Jaqua Page, LL.B.
Jaqua is committed to helping families, including older adults; address the legal issues that eventually touch all our lives, especially in the areas of family law, wills and estates, and elder law.
Jaqua’s work in family law involves negotiating settlements or making court applications for child and spousal support, or other family law matters such as: custody, guardianship, access to children or parenting time, child protection and divorce. Her wills and estates practice is focused on helping people plan for the future or assisting their families navigate the estate administration process. Elder law encompasses connecting with resources across traditional disciplinary divides (such as the health system) to address legal issues and identify the resources and supports available to an older adult in our community.
As a litigator, Jaqua has experience in both provincial and supreme courts of British Columbia, representing those who seek to obtain court orders or defending her clients against court orders sought. As a solicitor, she drafts Wills (of particular importance for couples who are separating), Power of Attorneys, Health Representation Agreements, as well as negotiates agreements to address the issues that may arise from cohabitation, marriage and separation. A lot of this work involves assisting clients to clarify and structure their personal obligations or wishes into legal agreements in order to support future success, be it in co-parenting, cohabitation, mental health concerns or estate planning.
