Susan Stapleton is a Child Specialist and Divorce Coach, as well as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) who focuses her counselling practice on children and teens.
As a Child Specialist Susan gives a voice to children experiencing separation or divorce, and as a Divorce Coach she helps adults through the Collaborative Divorce process, which is a respectful, low-conflict, no-court approach to divorce.
Susan’s therapeutic approach in counselling is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, Family Systems Therapy, Play Therapy, Trauma-Informed Practice and more. Susan helps clients with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, self-harming tendencies, drug and alcohol issues, anger management issues, social skills development and trauma. Susan takes an empathetic and caring approach with her clients. She is aware of the unique needs and experiences of young people and enjoys helping them grow and mature in a healthy way. Outside private practice, Susan works for a government agency as a counsellor for young offenders with mental illnesses, violence tendencies, and addiction issues.
In Susan’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her rescue dog Holly, baking and travelling the world.
